Do i need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
You do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist. However, some medical aid providers may require a referral. It’s always best to check with your medical aid provider before booking an appointment.
what should I expect during my first physiotherapy appointment?
During your first visit, your physiotherapist will conduct an initial assessment, which includes discussing your medical history, current symptoms, and lifestyle. We may perform some physical tests to evaluate your mobility, strength, and posture. Based on this, we will develop a personalised treatment plan for you.
if i have scans, should i bring them?
Yes, if you have any recent or related scans and reports they can be helpful.

how many physiotherapy sessions will i need?
The number of sessions required varies depending on the nature and severity of the condition being treated. Some people see improvement after just a few sessions, while others may require ongoing therapy. Your physiotherapist will provide an estimate after the initial assessment.
what should i wear to the appointment?
Please dress comfortably, but keep in mind that the area that will be treated will need to be exposed. We suggest wearing shorts for any lower back and leg/knee/ankle assessments and a shirt that exposes the upper back, such as a vest, for neck and arm/shoulder assessments.

An appointment is usually scheduled for 45 minutes.

For patients with medical aid, we charge medical aid rates.
