ELECTROTHERAPY

ULTRASOUND THERAPY
Ultrasound are safe and non-invasive techniques that can be used to treat a variety of conditions. The frequency, intensity, and duration of ultrasound is depended on the targeted t issue and aim of treatment.

A conduction medium such as gel is used to transmit the sound waves into the body tissue.
What Can It Help?
  • Acute phase of healing after soft tissue injuries and wounds
  • Muscular pain including neck and back pain
  • Sinusitis
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Bursitis of hip, shoulder and knee
What Are The Benefits?
  • Non-invasive treatment
  • Promotes healing, remodeling and repair of tissue
  • Swelling management
  • Improve blood flow
  • Soft tissue relaxation
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When body tissue and fluids are exposed to ultrasound, they oscillate. This results in the generation of heat, and formation of tiny bubbles. The increase temperature leads to increase in blood flow to the area promoting healing of the tissue.

The tiny gas bubbles cause mechanical stimulation and alterations of cells leading to enhanced healing during the acute phase and repair and remodeling of new tissue later during recovery.

INTERFERENTIAL THERAPY
Interferential therapy (IF) involves the application of electrical currents to body tissue.
What Can It Help?
  • Acute and chronic pain conditions
  • Back pain and sciatica
  • Ligament and muscle injuries
  • Weekend muscles conditions

What Are The Benefits?
  • Pain management
  • Encourage tissue healing and repair
  • Improve blood flow
  • Stimulation of muscle to improve activation
  • Muscle relaxation
  • Reduce swelling
HOW DOES INTERFERENTIAL THERAPY (IF) WORK?
IF uses alternating medium frequency currents that are passed through body tissue at the same time. When these two currents meet and intersect, they “interfere” with one another leading to its effects.

LASER THERAPY
Laser is acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Laser therapy makes use of a single wavelength of a single colour of light that travels in a single direction.

The beam is concentrated in a defined body area, producing various positive physiological adaptations in the targeted tissue.
What Can It Help?
  • Wounds and ulcer management.
  • Painful inflammatory conditions such as arthritis.
  • Overuse injuries such as tennis elbow.
  • Plantar fasciitis.
  • Sinusitis.
  • Shoulder injuries (including frozen shoulder and impingement syndromes).
  • Nerve pain.
What Are The Benefits?
  • Non-invasive.
  • Reduces pain.
  • Enhance body cell function.
  • Accelerates healing process.
  • Acts as anti-inflammatory agent.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The light energy forms the laser is absorbed by the cells in the body and is used as fuel for the cells.
